1) Distinguish between Stress Concentration Factor and stress intensity factor?

S)The Stress Concentration Factor is important parameter in determining crack initiation whereas stress intensity factor helps in determining crack growth.
Stress Concentration Factor:
It is defined as the ratio of peak stress at the root of notch to the nominal stress which would be present if a stress concentration didn't present.
Stress intensity factor:
A scaling factor used to describe the intensification of applied stress.
